For “Clay” Court surfaces, we recommend either har-tru or red clay/fast dry. These surfaces are entirely natural and environmentally friendly. They are not paved and completely porous. Clay court surfaces are very popular in the northeast for their natural look and also because they are very forgiving on the knees and legs. These courts should be brushed, rolled and watered weekly and need to be reconditioned and opened by a tennis court company each spring. We offer both a weekly service as well as annual reconditioning service each spring.
Advantages: Easier on the legs than asphalt courts, fast drying, slower court which makes for longer points
Disadvantages: More Maintenance, Cannot play other sports on it, additional annual costs for opening the court
